Many people either at events, through Instagram, or on this website ask why we decided to get into the CBD industry. Now, I myself don't have any interesting answers but I decided to interview my boss, and the Owner, Josh. Below are his answers to the most common questions we get about the company and it's roots.
Q: What Inspired Smoking Mirrors?
A: "Growing up as an athlete really puts wear and tear on your body, and I started to feel it more as I got older. I was looking for something to help ease pain, but I didn't want to take pills. I learned about CBD and the relations to cannabis and the many benefits it can provide to the body. Once I had experienced the effects myself, I knew I had to create a business to let others know about the industry and its benefits."
Q: Where did the name Smoking Mirrors come from?
A: "It's a play on words from the original saying "smoke and mirrors", but we dropped the 'and' replacing it with 'ing' because we believe in the ongoing process of properly educating people on the real benefits of CBD, and not the misleading information available on the internet."
Q: How did you chose the logo/brand colors?
A: "We wanted colors that felt exciting and welcoming. Thus, the light blue and red of our brand was created. It also can loosely tie into Superman, the American Flag, etc."
Q: Where and when did Smoking Mirrors start?
A: "Smoking Mirrors started in Charlotte NC during 2020, our main headquarters are still in Charlotte, NC."
Q: What was the first product created by Smoking Mirrors?
A: "Candles, it was our way of standing apart from the crowd and showing that there are other ways to use CBD."
Q: What is your biggest challenge with Smoking Mirrors?
A: "Getting our products out there, and letting customers know there are more ways than the traditional variety to use CBD."
Q: What does Smoking Mirrors as a brand mean to you?
A: "Improvement, our goal is to educate you on natural ways to improve your life, heath, and mental state."
Q: What is your favorite product? Why?
A: "Candles of course! The aromatherapy application of our CBD candles is the best way to introduce yourself to CBD without jumping right in."

A: "Nationwide recognition for our products and the message we are trying to portray"

A: "Opening up our first official brick and mortar location, and many, many more after that."5
